[0.4.12] MineJump Server [OFFLINE]

Hello everyone,

MineJump is a new NOT 24/7 (but kinda atm) server that brings Jump'n'Run to Minetest. You spawn in a lobby and can choose a course you wan't to play then.

Currently there are four Jump'n'Run courses. But more are comming soon!

Some general informations:
- Master the courses as fast as you can to get on the highscore list of that course.
- Some jumps need to sprint. (Default Key: E) (also called "Use"-Key)
- Check that you have enabled "fast" mode (Default Key: J)
- get back to lobby with chat command /lobby
- you can manually respawn (if stuck or something) with chat command /respawn
- kill yourself (usually not neccessary) with /kill

Address: minejump.duckdns.org
Port: 30000

Check the online state on servers.minetest.net. It will be listed there if online.
11-04-2015: OFFLINE!

Please give feedback for improvements or report bugs.

PS: Also feel free to post Jump'n'Run courses that could be added in future.

It's quite hard to win this when the keyboard disallows the combination of W + E + Space.

NEWS

I made an update to the game, that allows now an easy handling of different courses. From now you will be spawned in the lobby when joining the server. From there you can choose the course you want to jump. Currently there are two, the one (already known from the start) and a new one, see image below:

Beside these changes its not possible anymore to use the sneak + jump glitch, so highscores of 3 should be impossible now ;P

What do you mean? Why should a keyboard disallow the combination of W+E+Space? You can also change the keys if you think its unhandy, but Minetest itself doesnt limit multiple key usage.

Well, I can't hold 3 keys at once.

I discovered a bug that allows me to walk around and I love this building, great work!

more NEWS

- fixed textures error
- the time you needed is now displayed in "0:00" minutes format
- the respawning at course 2 should be less buggy
- you can kill yourself (to respawn if something went wrong) with "/kill"
- a new course is added

Should not happen (not that often) anymore. But it seems there is some engine related issue. But if so you can /kill yourself now.
And thx, but its just some rebuild from screenshots. So the mastermind is someone else, but idk who :\

NEWS

- 2 new courses, "Up" and "SkyJump"
- Hall of fame for each course at lobby
- fixed time messurement
- fixed highscore sorting
- new chat command "/respawn" which should be used when not respawning properly
- improved, more reliable way to respawn ("death-respawning" may be removed soon)
- added player_hash_skin mod for a bit character variety

Server is for an indefinite time OFFLINE. Seems the Minetest Community is not really interested in a Jump'n'Run server, or at least not in this one.

Aww. I started playing this server a few times and it was pretty fun. Oh Well.

Ofc not, and i don't. But IMO (and some comments made on server) a server like this is somewhat boring when you are jumping alone.

Well, thanks to you and the others helping to optimize the game behind and my experience concerning MT servers.
This topic is not finished once and for all, but for now the time and other stuff I would need to spend is not worth for (too often only) 1-2 players a day.

I will inform here if, how and when the server will be back ;)

Can we have access to the source code for all the featuring in that server (timer, highscores, etc.), please ?

...well, make a hunger games server or something with organized pvp and you'll get a whole lot of visitors... trust me.

blockmen: how about this for an idea. make a serever called griefwars. where the goal is to detroy as much as possible. so the idea would be to have people spawn in a lobby. and then when a round start there is a timmer and people have to grief as much as possible before the timmer runs out. and you get points when you dig a block. and the more valuble the block you break is the more points you get. and the person with the most points at the end of a match wins. and if you die. you keep the points you have and spawn in the lobby or in a spectator lounge. and between matches players can pvp or spleef in a small arena. and around the arena there would be unbreakable blocks.
