Maybe to you :)
You have every right to modify your copy and make it to your exact specifications. I say go for it rather then being harsh without specific details of the hard work of the creators.

See here: http://digitalaudioconcepts.com/vanessa ... guide.html, or use a mod with a crafting guide, I highly recommend unified_inventory.

The top post here says the mod requires 0.4.11, but I was getting a crash in the homedecor init.lua until I upgraded to 0.4.13 (to resolve a different crash).

Hello VanessaE.

I'm curious about how to create shapes like the toilet, or tvs, and their textures.... can you point me to any software or tutorial to do something like that?

thanks

I'm not VanessaE ;) but I can point you to the software used by most of us, https://www.blender.org/.

You can also get free models from sites likehttp://archive3d.net and just scale them to the right size for minetest using blender.

Update your minetest engine - the one you're using is too old to recognize the table.copy() function.

This is by far the BEST mod I have come across. I've been playing in singleplayer/private multiplayer for a long time and each time I get bored with the same--a bed, maybe a bookshelf or two, a chest, and a furnace. You only need one room at most, no need for a bathroom or a kitchen or dining room. But since I found this there seems like there is no end to the things I can craft! :D (And I can make bigger houses that can be decorated!)

I like the range of materials in this mod, but I don't like the lack of being able to use almost everything...

The stereo and speakers could play music, for example. Also, there is a certain display mod that shows in-game time on its clocks.

Also is there anyway to change the recipes from using lumps to using ingots.

The speakers could be made to play music, but I'm not going to do that, because it would require adding at least one large .ogg file to the archive, preferably several to allow for a reasonable music selection, so anywhere from 3 to about 30 MB of added data.

Some recipes use lumps instead of ingots to avoid recipe conflicts with other mods, plus they needed to make at least some sense.

I have experience with such things, and honestly they just don't sound good in practice.

I have split the signs_lib mod off into its own project. As such it is no longer included with the Home Decor modpack.

You can find it at: https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=13762

I recently ran into a bug with the wardrobe in the Homedecor mod pack, when I attempt to craft it, I get an unknown item that can't be placed.

Update 12/28/2015: Please disregard the previous message, it seems like what ever the bug was, it got fixed in the updated version of the mod pack.

There seems to be an issue with rotating shutters with a screwdriver. When in positions "13 6" and "13 7" (according to the replacer), the model is at the bottom of the node while the hitbox is at the top. This also means there's no way to change the orientation of shutters placed on the ceiling (i.e. rotating them horizontally).

I've tried the Multi-Song .ogg files. Just causes packets to drop or the server/client to crash due to the ram limit in luajit.

do you think you can add more game consoles like the PS3,PS4,XBOX 1 and XBOX 360 and any others?

I do not have plans to add other consoles. Pull requests are welcome, though. One thing I'd like to do some day is replace the existing models in the "computers" component with nice, low-poly meshes that better capture the shapes of the devices, and maybe come up with some extensible way to add wall materials that can be painted on one side.

I was planning to make a mod that would paint only one face of a node. I was going to add it to mypaint. I will let you know if I ever get it done.
