I'd like to make coloured descriptions for hard to get items im working on and im wondering if that can happen? Or is this feature going to be added in future builds (hopefully If its going to be added it happens soon!)

Currently, it's not possible to have colored text in item descriptions, but may be added in the future.

I'm working on a patch set to contribute custom Item text, so items that have an itemstack_max=1 can be renamed.

Once that functionality is in, I don't see why it could not be enhanced to support colorization of the tooltip text.

Would be nice to see colored descriptions, would be great to use it for premium tool/weapon ideas.

submit a feature request, I dunno, this may already be possible (the itemstack description can now be modified through itemstack meta, so we can do things like name books, keys, etc. and this is in minetest_game already).

Yes, since version 0.4.15 the requested feature has been implemented.
