3d shading

I saw on many mods that the 3d models are not shaded like blocks...

it would be nice if a new shader was albe to add a little bit better render for thoses.

ex: my azewheel mod: there are textures which are red and which won't appear when they are on the same color.
also, even when it's the night, the 3d models are always bright....

Yeah, currently that's a problem, not sure when it'll be fixed. Should be fairly trivial to have model shading, Irrlicht should already support it.

Also it's kinda disturbing to see that minetest does not accept any transparency on Meshes.....

Some skins have alpha (also known as transparency) and they work alright, what's the problem then?
You justly need to add an alpha layer, and i think it work alright-y (Try MtPaint, it supports transparency unlike Paint)
