Hi all!

You want to have a minecraft clone without limit et no crappy-eula minecraft?

The game is playable, it Contains the major assets like minecraft redstone the GameMode (creative or adventure), decorative block, minerals, plantations, crafts ...

The texture are 32x32 for better gameplay ^^ (This is not original Mojang texture )

How To Install ?

Replace the file "minetest.conf" with the one provided then extract the folder "mineclone" in the folder "/games."
Start your game and click on the logo pack (a craft table with mark "remix")

that screenshot of the zombie egg reminds me of a SNES game downported to the NES... IDK..

You should check out Pipeworks. That has a dispenser and a hopper (sand tube) ready to go right now.

Ah, good old Faithful. I like that texture pack.

Good job, this might be the most minecraft-similar game here. (Until now, it was MiniTest by PilzAdam)

Do you think you could host this on another site like GitHub? Right now it is kind of confusing to figure out how to download it from the website it is hosted on.

I'm having issues running the game. I downloaded the 0.2 version and placed it in my games folder, I then switched to the MineClone tab in the game and made a new world using that subgame. However, when I click play the game starts, but nothing appears in the world. Then if I try to close the game window it fails to close, so I have to kill the program through my system monitor. See screenshot:

When I ran minetest, selected the subgame and world, and then clicked on the "Play" button the game loaded and then came to the screen I showed in the screenshot earlier.

I turned on the debug info and I was able to move my position in the world around a bit by -0.2 to 0.2 in the first and third directs, and I can jump about 0.5 in the second direction. I can also move the cursor to change the yaw. I can open the main menu with the Esc key, but I cannot open the inventory menu.

Let me know if you need any more info on it.

I tried both the package from this forum and one of the other hosts. They both give you the exact same file. I get the same debug.txt as above (except I don't get that weird invalid character error).

Slightly unrelatedly, it looks like you've named a mod or modpack incorrectly, they cannot contain spaces. Delete all the lines in worlds/worldname/world.mt, add gameid = minetest and reconfigure mods in the menu. It could just be a mistype in minetest.conf though, make sure for each setting the bit before the equals contains no spaces.

In really IMHO i think this is a bit without sense i think everyone knows Minetest is Minetest not MC from M$.

May i be a bit intolerant to this type of things.

But anyways your work is good, and i like it!

Anyways if you a game more a like Minecraft add the support to the new MC 1.8 Skins, then i can say is a game more a like MC!

c'est bien dommage, j'aime minetest, mais il manque vraiment de contenu !

j'ai malheureusement gouté à Minecraft (j'avais jamais joué avant) et je me rend compte que j'aime

j'espere que Minetest vas avoir une communauté croissante, car la communauté Minecraft c'est énorme.
aprés je veux bien me lancer avec toi

Hi! I recently had the idea to make a Minecraft clone which comes as close as possible to the origial. Why? Just for fun! :D Then I searched for existing projects (so it saves me some of the work). Yesterday I have downloaded this and it looks like a very close resemblance of Minecraft. There's a lot of attention to detail already. No other subgame I know comes this close.

Then I decided to just download the repository and hack a bit on the code to fix bugs and implement more features. Just so you know I may be working on it in the future. There's no release yet, but I plan to post a new thread in 1 or 2 weeks.
I probably keep the name “MineClone” if this is not a problem for you, since this is still very bare bones and looks abandoned, and my fork will be a direct continuation of this.

It's an interesting practice for me as there are many challenges to overcome to re-implement all the features. By doing this, I will probably also come across one or another shortcoming of the Minetest API.
But I am quite surprised how much of the features this needs are already possible with the current API.
Thankfully, many of the features are already implemented in existing mods somewhere in the forums.
I never played Minecraft, but I saw those gameplay videos and I use the Minecraft Wiki.

It's really a blessing that there are so many custom Minecraft texture packs around. This saves a LOT of work. :-)

A question: Does anyone the conditions/license under which the Faithful textures are distributed? Because if not, I might have to switch to another texture pack, because of copyright.
Also, are you absolutely sure this subgame does not include any copyrighted data files from Mojang AB? I want to avoid this.

I'm creating MineClone 2, a Minecraft clone for Minetest.
I made the Help modpack, adding in-game help to Minetest.
