Re: help! server will not load, this error

As I understand, this is due to the "Server announce" feature. This feature allows your server to be listed on the "Servers" tab on the main menu for all Minetest users. Although this is eventually desirable, try disabling it to see if the server will run. In the minetest.conf fi...

Re: help! server will not load, this error

One thing to try is copying the world, the mods, and the game to your .minetest folder in /root.

Re: help! server will not load, this error

Your Minetest installation thinks that it is a shared, system-wide installation. That's why it's looking in /usr/local/share for Minetest files. This would be the case after using a prebuilt RPM package to update. What folder are you keeping your server in? There is a big difference between minetest...

Re: Writing modules in Rust?

Wow. Wren looks like a cool language. The documentation doesn't seem finished, though. The section on the C API says "TODO", so I guess we're on our own there.

Re: Minetest on iPhones

For those who have OSX/macOS, I wonder if they could use Xcode and compile it themselves. I haven't used Xcode much, but it has an iOS emulator. I wonder if you could find the .ipa package and copy it to the iPhone via something like https://www.macblurayplayer.com/iphone-explorer.htm . I'm not sure...

Re: Minetest 0.4.15

Awesome! I just want to highlight how important it is that we have such an open and powerful game and engine, with source code, all for free. Minetest was the first computer game I ever played on my homebuilt desktop, on Ubuntu. It was also the first game I set out to modify and customize. Great job...

Sorry for the late reply. I've been quite busy. :)

I tried the --terminal switch and I really like it. That's pretty cool. Thank you for explaining the option!

Server Terminal

Hello. Hopefully this is in the right place. This is my first topic. I see on the changelog for 0.4.14 that an ncurses server terminal was added. I have basic knowledge of what ncurses is, but I don't really understand what changed. I thought that the update was adding a terminal that you could type...

Re: Minetest for Xbox and IOS?

Hello. I just read this topic. I think that Xbox One is probably an easier target than iOS. I'm not sure what the "third-party approval policy" is for MS, but Apple's is almost certainly worse (when it comes to GPL compliance). Additionally, there are several illegal Minetest ports to iOS ...

Re: Post your screenshots!

Hey everyone. It's Saturday WOOOT! And I got Minetest for Android to connect to a server that I host on Ubuntu and play on with my friends. Oddly, I had never gotten past "Media" before, and I had let it load for over 30 minutes. But, it worked and now should be cached and playable! :) Nex...

Sure, here it is: #1 used by me Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32-bit Homebuilt machine: AMD64 processor, but running on 32bit currently, so using i386 builds EVGA graphics card, runs all 3D effects and shaders without a problem :) #2 used by friends Some recent iMac with OSX builds (thank you devs!) #3 used by m...

Re: Map will not generate

Hello. (I see that you are a new member, welcome to Minetest!) I think I may know a fix to this problem. I somewhat recreated the problem, and this worked, so it's worth a shot at least. Close out of Minetest. Locate the configuration file for Minetest. The file is called minetest.conf (not minetest...

Android offical build hangs

Hello there. I have been enjoying Minetest 0.4.13! I have a small server that I play on with some friends occasionally. I compiled it myself on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and have lots of fun on Windows 7, Win 10, (L)/Ubuntu 14.04, and even OSX El Captain(THANK YOU OSX MAINTAINERS :) ). The server has always ...

Hello. I see that this is an old topic, but I believe I know the fix. Use a file manager on your device or a computer that can access the devices's SD card, if it has one, or the "Internal Storage". In SD card or Device, you should find a folder called Minetest. Just delete the entire fold...

Re: LevelDB IO error

Hey. I don't know much about LevelDB(I use SQLite for my worlds). However, I wanted to suggest that you restart your computer. I know that sounds totally generic, but it might work. I believe that problem is that a lock file is indicating that the LevelDB file is in use by another process. If that i...

Re: Minetest Logo

Hello there. To answer the original question, I love the current logo and the one suggested. I do think that the Minetest logo has become a symbol of the game however. Changing it so late in development could throw away the image that it had established. So I guess I really think the logo needs to N...
