I think we can learn from Minecraft's mistakes here. I'd say a massive no to rain, although I'm not really opposed to snow so long as it doesn't give an ugly, patchy snow layer that makes your whole landscape just a sheet of whiteness.

I agree with qyron. I always make mistakes in Minecraft which leads to having to use my tools more and so they break quicker. I prefer having it randomly generated. It makes finding a nice, large and pretty lake actually something special, rather than just the 400th lake or river you've seen that hour.
