Re: 99 items

Here's a perfect example of why a stack size of more than 99 is a problem for tablet and phone users: https://forum.minetest.net/download/file.php?id=9427 Notice how on on this app, a single inventory slot can exactly fit two digits. Of course, if I choose such a huge font size, 3 digits would prob...

Re: Proposal to improve Minetest’s horrible controls

Besides left and right mouse buttons, I would like to dig/punch and place/use with keyboard as well.

So I want to say that it would be great to bind different mouse/keyboard buttons with the same action.

Re: [Mod] WorldEdit [1.0] [worldedit]

Is there a command that shows quantity of specified nodes in currect selection?

For example, I want to know how many stones are in current cuboid selection.

Re: Alternatives to sneak elevators

Also, paramat is suggesting a change to Minetest to increase the default climb speed from 2 to 3 nodes per second. The crafting recipe for Minetest Game ladders was just recently made cheaper in the dev version of Minetest Game: Now 7 sticks give you 5 ladders instead of 3. http://yoursmiles.org/ts...

Re: Jungle tree saplings

I looked in the code, and it seems that the probability is the same for both trees (1/20). You should even get more saplings per jungle trees because it has more leaves. But if you cut only one tree in a dense forest, the nearby trunks will prevent some leaves from popping (a leaves block pops when...

Jungle tree saplings

Why jungle saplings drop so rarely?

If I fell pine or aspen I could get 3 saplings. As for jungle trees, I fell 3 of them and got only one sapling.

Is that behavior intentionally programmed? Or probability of dropping of saplings is equal for all trees but I am just unlucky?

Re: [discussion] how can the forums be improved?

Situation with spamming happens periodic.

In order to reduce such things I recommend (if it is possible) to use algorithm for checking password simplicity/complexity while filling registration form.

Re: 99 items

I think the stack should be 128 or 64. But not 99, its just ... stupid? No, irritating? Well it does make lots of crafts rather irritating. Lets take, for example crafting of the stone bricks. If i want to craft stone bricks from stone i need 4 stone for a combination. So if i make as many combinat...

Re: Alternatives to sneak elevators

Making it possible to climb faster on steel ladders would be awesome (and it would make sense because steel is more rigid). I agree. Steel ladder is more expensive craft than wooden one. For crafting wooden ladder all you need is 7 sticks. While one tree block is 16 sticks. For crafting steel ladde...

That awkward moment when slabs are nodes.

That is awkward indeed. I see air. I see emptiness. Why should I think of it as something solid? I see it and understand that it could be occupied with something I place there.

Run minetest without GUI

I want to start the game, select/create world, load it, and launch /emergeblocks <pos1> <pos2>

As I understand, GUI and playing is not needed for it. As a result, less memory and CPU resources would be used and task could be executed faster.

that is how voxel games work. one node in one position at a time. the slab is occupying the whole 1*1m node with the upper half being air.
