Re: [mod] Trample path [wip][trample_path]

DS-minetest wrote:You could use "default:dirt_with_grass_and_footsteps". Then you don't need to register a new node.

I tried that, but I think the footstep overlay looks strange and it only works works for dirt with grass, not for dry grass or other nodes

Re: [mod] Trample path [wip][trample_path]

azekill_DIABLO wrote:can we have a transition node somethin like 'dirt with step' ?

default:dirt is a transition node between dirt with grass and the trample path dirt. I tried the default footstep overlay, but that looks odd.

Any suggestion and contribution is welcome

Re: [mod] Trample path [wip]

Does grass grow on the path, so dirt_with_grass path? I hope not. I made a change to this. Dirt with grass will be converted to regular dirt first, so there is a chance that grass will grow over again. You also have to trample down grass or flowers first, so there is a chance that grass or flowers ...

Re: Post your screenshots!

This is made with my Trample path mod. Started a vanilla game, found a dungeon in the savanna and start to dig and build. It takes a while because dirt with (dry) grass is converted first to normal dirt and dirt can be spread with grass again, but often used path will trampled down https://forum.min...

Re: Chunk-animator for Minetest

Looks really cool, but i think this would be more difficult in Minetest because of the chunk size.

Minecraft has 16*16*256 chunks, Minetest has 80*80*80 chunks. And i think we have more important stuff to do

Re: [mod] Trample path [wip][trample_path]

Now you have to trample down grass, flowers and mushrooms first and you can disable the function to trample down everything by walking over

How can I update param2 of a node? Currently I replace the node with set_node() and the new param2 value, but I hope there is a faster way

Re: Post your mapgen questions here (modding or engine)

I think it should be possible to make a copy of minetest.registered_biomes, modify it an register again. The table looks like this. Or probably just overwrite what you want to change { coniferous_forest_ocean = { node_riverbed = "default:sand", node_top = "default:sand", node_fil...

Re: Post your modding questions here

The leveldiff is the difference between the node's "level" group (not the crumbly rating) and the tool's "maxlevel" for the digging group (here crumbly) Sand is level 0, wooden shovel has maxlevel 1, so leveldiff is 1-> 10*3^1=30 uses Mese shovel has maxlevel 3, leveldiff 3 -> 2...

Maybe it is better to optimize a TP for shaders off OR for shaders on. Better to make two versions without compromises

Re: Post your modding questions here

How can I add wear to an item if it is used with the right mouse button? Meanwhile I got this, but I still don't understand uses. For example: a wooden shovel has uses = 10, but I can dig 31 sand nodes, a stone shovel has uses = 20, but I can dig 61 sand, a mese shovel has also uses = 20, but I can...

Re: [mod] Trample path [wip]

My plan is, that dirt with grass is converted to normal dirt first and if you don't walk over the same node for a while it will be covered with grass again. If you walk over dirt it will be converted to the trample path. Maybe I change the texture for that

Re: [mod] Trample path [wip]

I like it! Does grass grow on the path, so dirt_with_grass path? I hope not. On the right I can see a gravel path, is it made out of gravel and shovel? You didn't write anything about it. no, grass doesn't grow on the dirt. This mod isn't finished yet. I think about adding a trample path in sand to...

I'm not sure what is better. Tone Mapping on or off. The new rainforest litter looks extremely red and saturated with Tone Mapping

[mod] Trample path [trample_path]

This mod creates a trample path with slightly lowered nodes. You can create a path by patting the nodes with the shovel (rightclick) or optionally by walking over. You can create path on dirt, sand, gravel and snow. Plants like grass, flowers and mushrooms have to trampled down first. Github: https:...

Re: [modpack][wip] MB Trees

I noticed that schematics taller than 16 nodes are problematic. If they are placed at the top of a chunk they will be cut.

That means, the redwood tree can only be placed between y = 0 and y = 31, otherwise he will be cut at the top. The redwood has a height of 32 nodes
