What's Minetest still missing over Terraria?

I bought Terraria for less than a couple bucks on a steam sale. I fired it up to see what all the hoopla was, tried chopping down a tree, started building a house and was underwhelmed to say the least. It was a 2D poor man's Minetest. Why does mossy cobble glow underground

I installed the goblin mod, and the goblins start replacing stone with mossy cobble. The problem is that it lights up the caves. Any idea why mossy cobble makes the underground glow so you don't need a torch? It really doesn't make sense.

You can still get some minecraft 1.7 compatable skins on planetminecraft.com. Filter format to Universal Skin 64x32. These should work in minetest for now, but I think they are going away.

I love that the goblins actually have a purpose, and that they don't all mindlessly attack you. It makes them almost seem intelligent. Wish more mobs were like this. This works really well with the abandoned mines mod.

It might not be a bad idea to have a Teen/Adult forum(s) that prompt for your year and month of birth, and if you are old enough allows you to see mods/content that are for older players. Rather than having all the arguments over what is and isn't appropriate, just separate the content so it doesn't...

Love this mod, but I wish the grenade and rocket launcher would destroy some of the terrain like the shotgun. And it would be cool if it blew up maybe 5-10 blocks or so.
