Re: MTS Schematic Files

Huge Temple I found a map that I liked on some FPS game forum and shamelessly converted it to this. I had a fair go at it and this was the best I could come up with. I think I did pretty good with the inside but the outside is rubbish. I’m hoping some of you can make something nice where I failed. N...

The Citadel Includes housing for 128 players. [EDIT] I just noticed a bug when using this version of the Citadel in minetest 0.4.15 and the older version of minetest_game that I'm using, I don't know if this affects anyone else or not. When I load this schem it can't place any of the torches on wall...

MTS Schematic Files

Shortly after the official release of minetest 0.4.15 there was a bug introduced that affects the loading of schematic files. If you're having trouble with large chunks of my schematics missing after you import them I have written a tutorial that helps you work around it: https://forum.minetest.org/...

Palace

Buckinghuge Palace. Ridiculously huge. 201 X 201 nodes and more than 50 tall. But it looks pretty. The central palace also has a lovely ground floor ballroom. It's a real castle with all the crinkly bits. Designed for defence, starting with entry through a real gatehouse, the only accessible routes ...

Deepest Cave?

Truly deep caves are rare. What's the deepest cave you've ever found? Must be naturally spawned. Must be open to the surface. No mining, just explore. Here's an example from me, not the deepest I've ever found but the deepest I have proof of, coordinates and seed number in images. Depth of -176 http...

Re: JPG v PNG

Thanks MineYoshi, I never noticed that thread before. The reason I posted is because I live in a remote area with very slow and very expensive internet. Because of all the PNG files I can't afford to open the Screenshots page, too many Mb's and too slow. Must cause extra expense for the Forum's serv...

JPG v PNG

An issue that greatly affects bandwidth both on the server and for individuals accessing it. A 1920 X 1080 screenshot in PNG format is on average 1500 Kb in size. The same image in JPG format on average is a little over 200 Kb in size. People use the excuse that PNG format is Free Open Source but it...

Technic Training Camp

I started playing around with the Technic mod and discovered that there's a lot to learn if you want to play with this mod installed, and playing in Creative Mode isn't necessarily the best way to learn. So I created this Training Camp where you can access resources fairly quickly and easily and you...

Re: [Idea]Make a Minetest manual for begginers!

Hi MineYoshi, my personal thoughts are that a small and simple ReadMe.txt included with the game download are all that's needed, and it doesn't need to give too much detail, just enough to get started. I've created a draft sample below. If you think a little more detailed version is required like a ...

I just want to lend a little moral support to MineYoshi. I had exactly the same trouble when I first started playing Minetest. The wiki is very good but it's missing some very basic information. This is compounded by the fact that when they go to the Getting Started page it looks like a whole heap o...
