Oldcoder, every boy wants to talk to you here, he said:
Why did I get banned! That problem was so easy to solve! What time are you using for? Why didn't you just give me the build privelege!
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
<kino2007> well, oldcoder. Try to be better next time. That was not really good.

For server hosts who are interested, "kino2007" is "everydayboy" and perhaps a dozen other identities. He seems to be, or claims to be:

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.

and others, including well-known characters from last year. I've asked him to have one of his personas talk to me in IRC so that agreements can be worked out. No response so far.

You read my threads, so you know the policy. For example, just scroll up on this page; the same page that you posted on.

I'm surprised that you asked here. Please do not ask for build privileges in forums.

1. One answer is email.

2. Regarding the "build" priv, it was suggested to me and was a great idea. Servers with this feature can allow non-builder visitors to use doors and travelnets. It's good for any world where you'd like everybody to be able to look around.

Some developments on Moontest. First, the Funland Mall. tjbeylik says:

"This mall here has, I believe, ten rooms so far and a lot of work to it. The mall is Funland's shopping center, the place to relax and hide in."

I assume that the water fountain is actually an ice sculpture.

Inside the dome, testing out some new skins: Astronaut Boy, Cinos with Space Helmet, and Robot of Doom.

Finally, a large FNAF Bonnie and other odds and ends created mostly by tjbeylik. He says that he's changed the color of the Bonnie as artistic license.

I'm glad you have decided to tighten security. Many servers have griefing problems because interact (build) is granted by default, or can be gotten automatically (like on Vanessa's creative server). Sure, rollback can help, but someone still has to report the damage. Also, some users do annoying things that aren't really griefing (like placing random blocks all over the place)

I haven't played on this server in over a year, and when I came back, all of my builds seemed to be intact. Anyway, ask for the build privilege on the server when I get home, but it you're reading this before then, you can grant it now if you want.

I hope that the ladder + fast "bug" is never fixed. It's so fun, especially on this server, because of the low gravity.

wilkgr fell out of his UFO and lost it. Here's a screenshot of the lost saucer, out of reach, taken from the ground. But all's well that ends well. wilkgr is back in the pilot seat and flying off to explore luna incognita.

This reminds me of:

http://dansu.org/Lost_Saucer.mp3 (MP3 file)

From the future of time
They came to see
How the world used to be
But something went wrong deep inside
And they can't get off this crazy ride
Where are we going in the Lost Saucer
Somebody help us in the Lost Saucer

As a bonus, here's a Moontest Christmas Tree next to the Lunar Lander. Note: Spawn is getting too cluttered. If there's a Thanksgiving Moon Turkey for 2016, build it farther away.

EDIT: That picture was made from on top of a building.

1. You can travel from the Moon to the Earth in Moontest now.

Additionally, if people are able to help with textures and models, I can add additional planets, including different biomes, skies, and physics for the different planets,

In other words, Moontest is now technically Solartest.

I haven't modified UFOs yet so that you can fly between worlds. Instead, for now, chat commands and travelnets can be used instead. Help with future UFO modifications will be welcome.

To get to the Earth, in Moontest, use the command: /earth
To get back to the Moon, use the command: /spawn

2. Moontest (or Solartest) now has the Moon, an asteroid belt, and the Earth. The next addition might be Mars (a desert world) or Pluto (entirely snow and ice), but suggestions are welcome.

3. If you've built a spaceship, send me a "schem" or capture. I'll add it to a spaceship museum in Lunar orbit.

To visit the Ironclad, the first ship in the museum, use the command: /ironclad

4. The new Earth is experimental. I'm probably going to reset it several times before it's stable. So, only build there if you'd like to try out the world.

5. Another change is that I've used my Minesplice tool to trim non-built areas. This has reduced Moontest's size from 3GB to 1GB. It will also, more importantly, fix some biomes that generated incorrectly the first time around.

If any builds are missing, or other problems turn up, see me in IRC.

6. Here's a shot of the new Earth in Moontest. Nothing too surprising, yet. It's got basic biomes, a few mobs, and ores; the usual stuff.

By request, Solartest (also known as Moontest) has been updated as follows:

1. The day-night cycle has been turned on. As part of this, the Earth now has its own night sky.

2. The Moon now rises, travels across the Earth's sky, and sets.

3. The size of the Moon, as seen from the Earth, has been adjusted. The Moon's outline has also been fixed.

The screenshots below show the Moon's position, and the Earth's sky, at two different times of the day and night.

As a side note, more mobs have been added to the Earth. For example, in the night-time screenshot, a Pumpkin King is visible near the lower-right corner.

The new Earth now has fish, sharks, turtles, and other aquatic life.

Note that you can breathe underwater in this world; we'll assume that humans have been engineered in the future for the purpose. So, undersea colonies will be possible.

I'm testing "codersea", my fork of "sea", in this world. One difference is that seaplants glow in the dark, which makes things more interesting. The primary advantage of "codersea", though, is that, unlike "sea", you can add it to an existing world and clams and plants will appear even in previously generated areas.

ycul managed to fall through a hole in the lower edge of the Earth and into outer space. To prevent this unfortunate occurrence from happening to others, the Earth mapgen now adds a bedrock layer.

The bedrock layer is based on jn's "bedrock" mod. It's been modified so that the bedrock layer connects directly to the rest of the world, with no gap above it.

As a related note, the Earth mapgen, a new mod named "earthgen", is based on a simplified version of Nore's "mg" mod. It can be used to create an Earth-like world in any horizontal region of space where other mapgens have been turned off.

The vertical (i.e., "y") coordinates of the lower edge, upper edge, and nominal sea level of the horizontal region are configurable.

"earthgen" will probably be used, in modified form, to create some of the other worlds that are planned for Solartest.

The mod will be released publicly after testing and debugging.

1. The nose of the Ironclad, a nice spaceship in Solartest, has been repaired. I think that it was clipped by a WorldEdit accident. Thanks go to the players who reported the issue.

To visit the Ironclad, go to Solartest and type: /ironclad

2. The seas on Earth in Solartest are a little deeper now. This part is still under development. Thanks go to Nore, who suggested a mapgen tweak.

Moono has contributed 6 new foods to Solartest's copy of the "food_sweet" mod:

Moono Dillybar, Butterscotch Sundae, and Heart on a Stick
Moono Strawberry Bar, Strawberry Icecream, and Strawberry Star

Thanks, Moono.

I need to smooth the edges of the images a bit more, but they look surprisingly good, taking their original sizes into account.

Moono used MS-Paint to hand-paint icons at a size of about 9x10 pixels. I used a scaler program designed to handle small icons, scalerx by Andrea Mazzoleni, to increase the sizes to about 72x80, reshaped the canvases to produce 80x80 square images, made minor edits, removed the backgrounds, and scaled the images down to 64x64.

The results may be viewed below. In this screenshot, the player is wielding a dangerous Butterscotch Sundae.
