[Mod] Wine [0.5] [wine]

The wine mod runs alongside Farming Redo and ferments your well earned grapes into wine... Wine barrel's accept grapes and give glasses of wine which can be placed, 9x glasses of wine can craft a bottle of wine which can also be placed. To craft a barrel place 3 wood, 2 steel either side and then 3 more wood... Hover over the barrel to check fermentation percentage or if the barrel is full.

so now I can fill my wine cellar under my "Northern Inn" (on VanessaE's creative server) with the real stuff Image

is that glass placeable?
can this mod make use of the home-decor wine bottles when present?

Homedecor's wine nodes are quite nice, I'll have to look into some kind of compatibility to use those when available.

Neat, but maybe different textures overall?

I'm amazed that I haven't been on here in so long! My latest minetest accomplishment was mining by hand (well, as close as you can get in a computer game) a circle 30 blocks in diameter. It took forever but it's pretty cool.

I added the barrel model from cottages and modified some xdecore textures;
What do you think..too hokey?

Part of me wished this was able to run Windows programs under Minetest.

You know, Minetest is a good OS. It just needs a good voxel game, and all that. :P

Nice mod! I wish some of the brewing mods (beer, wine, other beverages) would be combined into one. The Lord of the Test subgame also has some brewing capabilities. I'd love to equip the barrels from my cottages mod with such a feature - or at least make them compatible if some sort of brewing mod is installed.

Now this gives me an idea! If the user has had too much wine (make that configgable!), then occasionally (read: often) the camera will just go up a bit (simulating a hiccup), and also, everything will look wavey.

100% accurate simulator there!
I do not care.

You are either missing the textures in the mods folder
or the textures have been renamed somehow.

download the mod again.

maybe try to locate the hidden .minetest folder as in dot-minetest. If there is no mods folder there create it and put the wine mod folder in there.

You could also try to open the textures with some picture program to see if the textures are broken or in some wrong png format.

I am using Linux to host minetest server for my family. So, all custom-mods in /usr/share/games/minetest/mods.

The /var/games/minetest-server/.minetest/ mods was empty. only /var/games/minetest-server/.minetest/world/world content world files.

I am also try to open *.png, It's look like correct. Just don't know why won't work in minetest game.

Thank for your kindly reply.

I have read that wiki many time before when I first time try to install custom-mods.
But I found the wiki description have little difference with my Ubuntu Linux machine.
Maybe was because my minetest was installed by ubuntu software center.
Also using manual update from 0.4.12 to 0.4.13 version.
All my custom-mods/mod-packs (animals/tech/pipework/morexxxxx... and many mods) are installed in /usr/share/games/minetest/mods after I do many research and try & error. All other mods/mod-packs are working fine now.

Anyway, I have try to put the wine mod either

/usr/share/games/minetest/mods

or

/var/games/minetest-server/.minetest/mods

both have same result.

I can craft all stuff. I can place.... but just can't see the correctly image.
The only message I get was

By the way..... My server machine was at location 1 (city a) with ip a.a.a.a (isp 1)
And my client machine was at location 2,3,4,5 (city b, c , d ) with ip b.b.b.b/c.c.c.c/d.d.d.d (isp 1, isp2, isp3)... for my family and firends.

so, It's not that case of client/server at same machine.

ok, after carefully check. I solve the problem.
This problem was about the file/directory permissions.

when I unzip the wine(0.3).zip. I get this files/directorys

the directory of textures was wrong. should be 755 (or 775, same as model directory). So, I change the mod from 700 to 755 and restart minetest-server. It's work now.

Hope my case can help some other people.

lincy, l'm using the minetest ppa. l don't know why the link at minetest.net leads to the packages, it took me a bit time to find out that l simply need to remove the "+packages" from the end of the address.

If you fill e.g. a bucket with marbles, they take the smallest possible amount of space, stacked cylinders do the same, just in 2 dimensions. Could you make the barrels stack automatically in a triangle pattern instead of a square one?

Due to the voxel nature of Minetest multiple nodeswould have to be created with bits and peices of barrels to achieve that illusion. It certainly would look better, but I think coding it would be difficult.

- Added the ability to ferment barley from farming redo into beer
- Added the ability to ferment honey from mobs redo into honey-mead
