Hello everyone! Clonecraft is now uploaded to GitHub! Unfortunately, I had to zip it because it was too big and I didn't want to take out the time to upload the games piece by piece. When I have time, I will upload an extracted version of the zip, but for now, here's the link:

Ok so one there is an issue with snow that crashes the game, removing the snow mods fixes it and then when I open the inventory I see this.

this is a bug with craftingpack! take the mod from my subgame voxbox i fixed it :)

Thanks guys; I have been too busy to do maintenance and testing myself (I'm currently working on another GitHub project, LIPTV). When I upload the full game unzipped I will make sure I add the fixed mudpack and (temporarily) remove snow.

@SAMIAMNOT please use the crafting pack from voxbox! it will fix your bug!

Regarding future development, (thankfully) LIPTV is nearly finished, and I would expect be be able to return to development and testing of Clonecraft in September (maybe mid-August) at the earliest. Thanks everyone for staying with me; I will refine Clonecraft! I jist want to make sure I finish LIPTV first.

If anyone wants to make changes, feel free; the code is on GitHub.
I test mines.

Can't wait to start development of this game again, guys.

I've extracted the zip file and am uploading the full version of the game to GitHub now.

Again, if you want to edit the code or download it, it is here: https://github.com/notanewbie/clonecraft. GitHub will be the new home of Clonecraft. I'll still take suggestions and stuff here as usual, but I plan on eventually phasing that out and using this forum topic for announcements alone.

I've noticed that the leaves of the trees are not decaying, so I have to clear them by hand. Is there a mod that I'm missing, or is this a bug in Clonecraft?

leaf decay has been changed some time ago, maybe this game wasn't updated in a long time so some things are not working anymore.

Heya!

Weird as this may sound, I'm wondering if there are any mc mods that we'd like a port for?

Just faffing about, I noticed that Applied Energistics is fully compatible with minetest, so I figured there must be other mods that would be easier to port.

I think MT would get a lot more plays if we could get close to the bigger technic/ftb packs.
Washed up modder from the other voxel game until 1.8 broke everything. Decided that minetest presented a much better modding interface (albiet not perfect).

Figured he'd port some mods from the other voxel game for cheap thrills.

Hello everyone! I'm back after a pretty long hiatus. (I've been busy with other projects, including but not limited to Radio Central 2, LegalStream and what will amount to LIPTV 2.) I'm going to add some things, then get the latest version of Minetest (I think it's at 0.4.16 now) and optimize Clonecraft for it. However, I may not be able to upload the latest version until a few days because our computer has some adware I need to get rid of. Thanks, everyone, for playing the game!

I haven't noticed it. I'm going to take Clonecraft for a spin and see if I can root out the problem...heh heh...

EDIT: Please note that this is based off of RPi, which is based off of Minimal, and might not have decaying trees. Theoretically I could change it...but I don't know Lua (or have time to learn it). ;)

So I just took Clonecraft for a very quick spin (didn't check out the trees though...that will be tomorrow) and I did a very small change, adding the character.b3d file from the default mod from minetest_game, increasing mod support.

Also, I've moved Clonecraft from the forum site to Github, so you can get Clonecraft now at https://github.com/notanewbie/clonecraft_ZIP.

Are you sure that you're using the correct Clonecraft version? Please download the current versions (Clonecraft 1.0.1 and Clonecraft Classic 2.1.2) it from here: https://github.com/notanewbie/clonecraf ... 101212.zip Also, which version of Minetest are you on? I am on 0.4.13 (although I will update soon).

I solved the first one by copying the "bucket" mod to Classic's "mod" directory. Don't know about the second only that your "mapgen.lua" only mentions "mapgen_water_source" not "mapgen_river_water_source". Hope this helps.

Yeah, I'm still working on this error. I removed all references to "mapgen_river_water_source" in the default mod but still couldn't get the error to go away...

Thanks zing269 for the tip! I had to alter the code because mintest.register_alias_force doesn't exist in Clonecraft Classic, but without further ado...

Also, you have used textures from MineClone 2. Do NOT use them, because otherwise you taint your subgame with non-free data which is certainly NOT CC BY. It is not me who will you forbid you to do this, but the original author may. Sooooo sorry. ;-(
Besides, 32×32 textures don't fit into this game anyway, so you are probably better off with using Minetest Game textures.

Sorry for that. I plan to eventually replace all the non-free textures in MineClone 2. I'm not really happy with the 32×32 textures anyway.

EDIT: OK, forget my panic about the textures. The textures actually come from the Minecraft texture pack Faithful, and here you can download it:

Cool, yes I did get the files from Faithful. I've never even heard of MineClone.

Some sad news today...my dad made a deal with us; we can keep Minetest and our three PS3 controllers, or we get rid of Minetest and get a fourth one so that four out of the five of us who are old enough to play Minecraft on the PS3 can play together locally. Most of my siblings decided to get another controller, so it is my duty to inform you that due to the fact that we will have to get rid of Minetest, Clonecraft will have to be discontinued. If anyone wants to pick it up and keep it updated that's fine by me, and I'll keep the ZIP files up on my GitHub account, but I simply won't be able to work on the game anymore after we get the controller. I'll try to address the bugs brought to my attention by Wuzzy, but past that I won't do anything more with the game.

Yeah, it's a good idea to bring Clonecraft in an at least roughly playable state so that a normal player would not run into a bug within 5 minutes of playing. ;-)

But I think this means you will soon leave the Minetest community, right?

I'm creating MineClone 2, a Minecraft clone for Minetest.
I made the Help modpack, adding in-game help to Minetest.

Yeah, I intend to do so before I have to give up Minetest.

Not necessarily, as I can still use the forums.

That reminds me, I need to clarify that if anything has code that can fix a bug or a mod request that they can certify is compatible, I can add them to the game. I'm banned from Minetest, but not the game.

Oh wait, that sounds wrong.

What I mean is, the only thing I can't do with Minetest is have it on the computer. Everything else is fair game.

Hope that makes sense.

Okay, so I addressed a bunch (but unfortunately not all) of Wuzzy's issues. More bug fixes coming tomorrow.

Get Clonecraft 1.0.4 and Clonecraft Classic 2.2 now at https://github.com/notanewbie/clonecraf ... t10422.zip

EDIT: Just remembered that I forgot to bundle the default_ice.png texture. I also made some changes. When they're available, get them here: https://github.com/notanewbie/clonecraf ... t10522.zip

Okay, so I have further updates concerning my current situation. Turns out my sister's money that they were going to use to buy the controller on Amazon got "absorbed" (Mom & Dad accidentally spent it) after they put it in our parent's bank account, so they'll have to raise the funds again to buy the PS3 controller. Guess they'll use Amazon gift cards now...
On the other front, which is my support of the game, turns out my parents promised to get me a smartphone this fall. Me knowing the phone will likely be Android (we use prepaid), I plan on continuing development of Clonecraft once I get that phone and conduct testing on that device, as I'm too busy now to work on Clonecraft but hopefully things will clear up by then.

So stay strong! Clonecraft is still alive, or at least I'll take it off life support this fall. Thanks for continuing to play the game.
