Ok so tried it again, found some caves while mining, and yes it looks more like trolls than bears lol.
They are pretty hard to kill, because they are very resistant, and weapons don't "bump" mobs when you hit it, so they always are in close combat.

That's the main idea of the mobs; to create hardness in the game so standard mobs have the health of the player while advanced mobs like the troll have way more health, but don't worry for now, very soon the current weapons will look tiny compared to upcoming weapons/ tools. For now, do try out every weapon like battle hammer, battle axe, spear, some of them may prove to be better than sword in combat.

In fact it would be better IMHO if weapons were bumping mobs like in MC.
Because they just keep going over you and hit you again and again.
I'm not against a bit more difficulty, but it can be a bit annoying if you have to fight a mob and you can't move.

Okay, I've made it so all weapons have 10 times more durability in the next release.

Maybe actual durability is enough, bumping mobs when hit would be a greater improvement IMHO.
Oh and if they died in lava too because I trapped a troll and poured lava in hole and it just was walking around like "IDGAF" lol.

The troll doesn't have lava damage, but most other mobs do. As trolls are made of stone, it doesn't really make sense for them to die when exposed to molten stone...
As for the bumping of mobs, I'm not sure if that is possible... I agree that it would be good, but I'm not sure if the Minetest engine supports it...

Oh ok, so maybe it would be more obvious to change troll's skin so we clearly see it's made of stone ?
Hope that it's possible for the bump thing, it's one of the only difference with MC that annoys me a little :s

I will consider your idea to change the skin into a more stony texture & considering the high health of the troll it would be better to add some tiny lava and water damage for the troll, so i will be adding it into the next update.

Like what Amaz said, i'm not really sure if that is possible too, but i will look into it, no promises on this in future updates though.

Well I just thought of the throwing mod from PilzAdam that could help : when hitting a mob it could "throw" it with distance depending on weapon (0.5m with a wooden pickaxe, 3m with a diamond sword for example).

Don't know if it could be done though lol.

Just to say that I tested creatures mod from Blockmen, and it's pretty awesome : mobs are making noise, they bump when we hit them, and they even drop items.
Could be a cool base for LOTT mobs IMHO.

I think that for Lott it will be too laggy.

There are no plans to switch the base for LOTT mobs now, but i will look to see if the creatures mod is a suitable alternative.

I found one bug. With armor enemies don't do any damage to me.
And one micro bug. Chicken meat has melon texture.

For the first one, it is not a bug, because of the health of the mobs, i have decided to low the mobs damage so they take a long time to kill but don't do much damage so even weak armor can shield those attacks, more mobs is going to be added as of the next update and everything will be balanced.
As for the chicken meat having the melon texture, take it as a joke now since it doesn't cause any problems, it will be fixed in the next upcoming version

There isn't any decision to make more nature as of now, but i will look into them and see if they could help. As for the orc dungeons part, they are more of abandoned castles/ orc structures than dungeons, underground chambers and tunnels are originally intended to be in such structures, but however the air in them would be replaced by the terrain, leading to no tunnels/ buried tunnels. So i'm clueless abt how to correct it as of now, but i'm looking into different generating structures methods that can hopefully help with that problem.

A craft guide may be a great idea, i will consider it, however for the boat you can simply add plizadam's boat mod into your world.

Although with this update, there are some bugs.
  1. After potion is used, the healthbar disappears
  2. Using creative mode will not enable armor gui
They will be fixed soon, the second one shouldn't cause much disturbance since armor is not needed in creative mode anyways.
The wiki is also not updated yet, so meanwhile just explore the world and see what you can find. Also with this, i'm looking for anyone who is interested in becoming a wiki editor to edit the wiki since both Amaz and i don't have much time to do it.
Generated structures is rather buggy at the moment since it uses couple of abms, so if it crashes your minetest, you will have to remove generated structures by removing schematics.lua in lottmapgen file.
As of now, generated structures, have random chest added in but they do not have mobs spawning in the structures yet, but that is wip.
