I just pushed some updates. Lots of little things. Switched to blockmen's new hud and hunger mods. And it's been stuff I have tinkered with over the last 4 or 5 months off an on so I don't remember what all the changes are, but it does seem stable, probably buggy but it's not crashing all the time.

1- Hunger folder downloads empty so gives init.lua error
2- Game crashes often

Hunger was in my repository as a submodule that's why it wasn't downloading. I re-added it so it won't be a submodule and it should download now.

There are some minor things like girls who have male names, a typo on self-employed npcs but your mod works very well with Adventuretest. The interface is very intuitive. Trading adds some life and a new interest to the villages and people have a large variety of goods to sell. They even sell rare stuff like mese or mossy cobble.

Yes, the male names for female traders is something I have to change. Right now I did let them trade something randomly and take one of the names suggested for that trader. A better list of names to choose from would be welcome! Please also tell me where the typo is so that I can correct it.

There have been several updates lately:

- Lots of bug fixes
- Added stamina, so over time you will use less energy when moving around the world
- Trees are no longer breakable by hand, you must use a tool but you also start with a steel axe now
- Made skills easier to acquire by lowering the experience required for each level

Thanks! I hope I'll learn eventually. In this particular case, it's not a typing error but a spelling error. I've corrected it in mobf_trader.

I've moved that button up a bit for now. Maybe I ought to move the whole table up a bit and put the quit button to the upper right eventually.

Great tutorial, mate! I am really hoping this becomes a part of the default set of games. The challenge is pretty good, I should upload one of my videos showing this and how I was literally dieing as baking bread! The hunger and stamina sure make it a challenge to walk great distances!!

Added a new quest today. It's a simple quest but the rewards can be helpful. Right click on any of the ladies in the village with black hair to receive your quest.

Hi, I have a strange problem with movement. I was able to play without any issues until two days ago. Since then I have updated the game data to try fixing this. When I log on to a singleplayer game I can moved with WASD for a few seconds before movement stops functioning entirely. If I am holding down a directional button when it stops then my character slides in that direction until blocked by nodes. I have tried changing the key assignments but it seems to be a bug and not a configuration issue. Below is the debug file from my log on where I only moved back and forth until movement stopped.

Go into your world folder and delete the affects.txt and physics file. This happens sometimes when there is a crash.

The landrush protection mod doesn't seem to be a good choice for this server. Players do not build that much; protection covers more than one house. Bones cannot be removed due to it. Maybe there ought to be alternate ways of relaxing. Staring at a blank screen is not exactly a highlight. Which is a pity, as the game works quite well in most other regards.

Made some major changes. Because mg mapgen was too slow I opted to switch to mgv7. I have recreated most of the biomes from mg with a few differences (I just remembered, I think the snowy biome is missing the pine trees I'll add that to the todo list). I'm really liking mgv7. Lots of mountains with snowy peaks, large valleys and rivers. It's pretty epic.

Added mg_villages for the villages and modded it to spawn my NPCs and fill chests and shelves with experience orbs. It's a bit buggy with floating buildings (my guess is it's mgv7 related). I'm sure those bugs will get ironed out.

Add a magic flower (this grows at elevations over 300)
All potion recipes call for a magic flower
Added the textures for the magic replenishing potions
Removed moretrees (it will be the player/server admin's choice if they want moretrees)

Switching to this will cause major abnormalities in your map generation.

I'm not sure which one is the most current mapgen. Paramat is our expert regarding that. Afaik v7 is outdated already as well. If you're looking for a very nice set of biomes for v7, try ethereal. Might fit well to the magic part of your game.

There ought to be no floating buildings, regardless of mapgen. If your mapgen creates very high peaks, it may exceed the capabilities of the current version of mg_villages as that sticks to the surface mapchunk (the one containing y=0) in order to speed things up even more. The lone buildings sometimes still have problems and cause trouble. You can disable them with setting mg_villages.INVERSE_HOUSE_DENSITY = 0 in mg_villages/config.lua. Please report bugs you notice.

The floating buildings have been fixed. I had to reset the test server so it has a new map with the new villages.

Added jungle spiders (possibly the most dangerous mob in the game)
Field of view for mobs wasn't working properly so I bypassed it so monsters can see when you are behind them

Watched the tutorial video and this game looks very interesting. One of the most interesting I have seen so far. The only thing that will immediately annoy me is the lack of a crafting guide. Is one of the things I have always hated since I started minetest is not knowing what you can craft and how to craft it.

Otherwise this looks extremely nice. Tempted to try it out.

Do you have a recipe guide somewhere for all the crafts ?

Edit: Wanted to try it out in singleplayer. Created new world but it just hangs at "creating server " and don't progress any further.

I'm going to try the function posted in there when I get some time. I was trying to debug it but I don't understand the math completely so I think that's why I have been unsuccessful in debugging it. I spawned one mob and walked around it and sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. I couldn't find a consistent reason why it would stop working.

I'm not sure why it would hang at creating server. If you could try it again and post the last 50 lines or so of the debug.txt in your bin folder I will look into it. If you are using the offical 0.4.12 release you may want to try one of the more current developer builds (viewtopic.php?f=42&t=1523)

There is a crafting guide. Once in the game type /m and press enter and you will get a crafting guide, equipping armor form and changing skin form. I'm going to redo the main inventory form to include buttons for the crafting guide, skins and armor.

I can confirm this happen to me too with the same build (I also tried it now with two builds before with the same result). I just loaded a fresh world with minetest_game and only a recent [handle_schematics] on. Same effect. I tried its versions down trough the commit history until I got it working. Last working version for me is from Jul/ 2/ 2015.
It seems 6c1d8ab broke something? Carefully guessing, though the title of the commit would fit to what happens (hanging at start). ;)

edit: made a short issue for it

I pushed an update that removes the build chest from handle_schematics in adventuretest. See if it works for you now. It looks like it's only a Windows issue because I haven't had a problem on my computer or the server.
