Congrats team!
I saw the tagged release on github about two minutes after it was tagged. I felt like blabbing the news to the forum but didn't think it my right to deny the devs the honor of a proper announcement.
Thanks for all the hard work!

The changelog is incomplete as always ...;)

You added:

- Fences (all woods)
- Fence gates (all woods)
- Aspen
- Flint and Steel
- Mapgen v7, generates lakes, rivers, kanyon, and 3 types of dungeons (mossy cobblestone, desert stone brick, sandstone brick).
- Floating leaves (lily), generated in the lakes;)
- API - New methods? incomplete documentation :(
other new things ...

Guys! You did a great job! Minetest with 0.4.14 version has improved so much! in the next work out:

- Torches lighting (graphic glitch in the blocks, are displayed dark in low light), improved the range of torches lighting (to light a 10x10 room I enter 10 torches lol)

- It would be useful, a new method, which allows you to stack two objects / blocks (eg carpet and table above, I find documentation for doing this)

- Added new doors (acacia, aspen, pine, junglewood).
- Concentrate mainly in the resolution of important bugs (lighting, xpanes to connect well the nodes, Sofar has already solved, I saw on his youtube channel what he achieved, Sofar are a legend !!!)

Thank you all guys! forgive my bad english, and hope not to bore you with my enthusiasm, and love that I feel for this project!

The changelog is a broad overview of the engine changes alone, not for the MTG game.

There are even more things than what you mentioned added to MTG.
The creative inventory received an overhaul, written books now are divided in pages, steel ladder, steel sign, waterlilies, permanent fire (only in creative inventory for now), regular/mossy/desert cobblestone walls with the same new API used in the fences... also there should be a big performance improvement in several areas (like TNT explosions, and several ABMs that were replaced with the new LBMs or improved).

It's a pretty nice release.

I'm not completely sure.. did the changes for the plant growing using timers make it for this release?

There were some things like the itemstack metadata set/get that didn't make it in this release but that look pretty promising for the next one.

Congrats on the new release!

I'm using the Ubuntu 14.04 ppa version, which just updated to 0.4.14, to host my server and am looking forward to the ncurses server-side terminal. When I add "--terminal" to the "minetest --server" command I get the following error message:

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
ERROR[Main]: Cmd arg --terminal passed, but compiled without ncurses. Ignoring.

Am I using the incorrect command to start the server? Is there any way to get this working without compiling myself?

Thanks for the help!

Hi tfranko. You might need to contact whoever builds the PPA (there should be a contact link somewhere... probably in the package or where you get it from)

Great work!

Beautiful map generators
Choose from three different in-house map generators, v5, v6 and v7, each of them featuring several biomes.

You should update the website...

You are right! also the new humidity and ambient parameters? I think so! However Minetest 0.4.14 led exponential improvements to the project! Excellent work guys !!!

Ok, thanks. This is the ppa I'm using: ppa:minetestdevs/stable and apparently @est31 uploaded the most recent package for Ubuntu 14.04.

Thank you, @est31, for being so quick to update the PPA!

Finally, Minetest reaches 0.4.14!

Thanks for everybody who contribute to Minetest for your hard work. Hope this patch can do much better than 0.4.13.

One thing that's still missing: translation. I mean, after huge change for advanced settings, many strings have to be translated in many languages. In my native language, it already 55% translated last time I see. Also, I found that 2 non-english languages (German and Italian) already 100% translated which is a great news.
