Mgv7 is now the default mapgen

Mgv7 is fairly stable now.
The terrain itself is 'unofficially' stable, although we cannot guarantee no changes, changes are unlikely.
The set of biomes registered in MTGame are not stable but probably never will be, since we will always want to improve these and occasionally add new biomes or move existing ones.
If in future biomes are moved or new biomes are added the worst effect is a straight border between biomes, this will not affect the terrain surface itself.

The mgv7 floatlands, disabled by default, are not stable, their shape may change.
Biomes are a mess in floatlands when combined with the floatland lakes, we didn't have time before 0.4.15 to create a dedicated set of biomes for mgv7 worlds with floatlands enabled.

Using mgv7 in minetest 0.4.15 with standard settings,
I find quite a lot of those floatlands.

Also, lots of places with a 'square-wavy' landscape, ie.
plateau high up, sudden drop to a lake, steep cliff up, another high-up plateau.

not the occasional small floating islands :P
floatlands is a whole new world above the clouds ;)

Has something changes in mgv7? Landscape looks more fancy now. Persistence increased?

The last change to mgv7 surface terrain was in March 2016, slightly less steep cliffs.
Before that, the most recent significant changes to mgv7 surface terrain were in July 2015.
Mountain noise persistence was actually reduced in July 2015 to make mountains less crazy and reduce the amount of floating stuff.

Indeed i'm referring to the floatland realm at y = 1280, not the smaller floating chunks of terrian.

Funny how several people think mgv7 has got weirder, maybe because you're exploring it more, it does occasionally create extreme things.

Strange... However, I prefer a persistence of around 0.45 . I also try the "eased" flag to remove the perlin noise artifacts

The square-wave-like cliff terrain was created in May 2015.
