Stolen Minetest??

by maikerumine » Wed May 27, 2015 11:11

http://www.amazon.com/FireGames-Adventure-Craft/dp/B00XKGQQX6/ref=sr_1_1?s=mobile-apps&ie=UTF8&qid=1432724765&sr=1-1&keywords=adventure+craft
Is this a stolen version of minetest? Or is this legit?
I would believe it to be a free game, not 3 dollars.

If it provides the source code to purchasers, then it is completely legal.

Ahhh. I am not aware of all the FLOSS stuffs, I figured if it was open source and free then it would always be free.

Good to see more of minetest in the world though.

"free" in "free and open source" means freedom. I prefer the term "FLOSS", which means Freely Licensed and Open Source, as it's clear. I see you've used that.

Can I just say that the best part about that webpage maikerumine linked us to is that it has a screenshot with the favorite "everything's red" shader error.

I am pretty sure the Minetest on www.minetest.net will always be free of charge. And even if not, anyone could simply provide a copy for free of charge somewhere else on the Internet.
Therefore, it is highly unlikely that you will ever be practically forced to pay anyone for Minetest.
