Just been thinking... What's the story behind the default player mob?

I mean, what is it suposed to be? How it came to be that way?

I'm talking about the texture actually, not the technical aspects.

The player is not really a "mob", as it is, well, a player.

Why ask? There's no real story behind. Just two ugly and green textures. :)

In the beginning, player's were nothing but names, then around the time the chaos biome was created, they were trollface sprites (See Here) then they slowly became 2d objects which were flat, and that's what they are now.

Actually, players were first only trollfaces, then they got names, and then, I don't even know why and how, i whipped up the odd green figure that has been in use for most of Minetest's history. 8)
