mtmodder148 wrote:Sorry if that threw you off it's blockman's recent build your build just crashes with no error. When I'm in creative mode if I open the inventory the game crashes. Both builds are doing it. I don't know why yours doesn't produce an error. I didn't change anything or add any mods.

Did you try using the 64-bit build?

About the crashing vs. not crashing:
MSVC (incorrectly) raises an exception on access violation, an access violation is however a fatal error that shouldn't be thrown as a C++ exception.

I've never used it in the past and I know that my computer is 32-bit. I'll try it though. Are you not getting the same error?

Note: The 64-bit didn't run at all as expected. :) Should I post the error in bugs and problems rather than here?

Both yours and blockman's builds crash, but only his shows the error in debug.txt.

I just found out that the crash happens only when the setting preload_item_visuals = false and creative_mode = true. When preload_item_visuals = true the crash doesn't happen. Here is the commit that changed this by default: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/commit/d7bcde6db44e9b835be20e0c986e60a2e2e20a81

I am pleased to see a new build from you. Will there be one for 32 bit systems too?

Hi,

in the following thread we are talking about jungle by default in minetest 0.4.10 :
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9710

It seems that the windows builds don't have jungle by default. We need to modify the minetest.conf file to have them. I try the stable build and the last daily build (minetest-0.4.10-61ed56f-win64.7z) but jungle is not activated by default. Is it a bug or is it normal ?

I also get
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
mgv6_spflags = nojungles, biomeblend, mudflow

in the map_meta.txt (so, no jungle by deault)
and with the latest build I get this error now
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
ERROR[main]: ServerMap::loadMapMeta(): could not openD:\...\minetest-0.4.10-61ed56f-win32\bin\..\worlds\test\map_meta.txt

for every new world with a fresh downloaded build (win xp sp3, first start, no additional mods, no config tweaks).

edit: The preliminary answer from my side about no jungle (and dungeons) by default: the minetest.conf file in the minetest_game folder is missing in the builds.

Maybe you called the file "map_meta.txt.txt" (where the 2nd .txt is hidden by system).

Sorry, I am not sure what you mean with I "call". I get this error in the debug (?) window when simply starting a world. But there is no noticeable effect in the game. Just checked it again, the last build minetest-0.4.10-8da3136 didnt had this error.

Latest build ? I get 2271 errors :D (while extracting) and it says that its not for 32 build, but it was. Can you give a look on that ?

The files extract fine for me, make sure the download did not abort and try downloading them again,.

Have you gotten the build to work 32-bit/64-bit alternatively via mingw toolchain? Been having some mainmenu issues while trying to build from source in mingw (see: https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10487).

Doesn't run. Opens then crashes. Here's the debug:

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
Automatically selecting world at [C:\minetest-0.4.10-0e78aa2-win32\bin\..\worlds\Creative Mode]
Irrlicht log: Irrlicht Engine version 1.8.1
Irrlicht log: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (Build 7601)
Irrlicht log: Using renderer: OpenGL 2.0.0
Irrlicht log: Intel 965/963 Graphics Media Accelerator: Intel
Irrlicht log: OpenGL driver version is 1.2 or better.
Irrlicht log: GLSL version: 1.1
Irrlicht log: Resizing window (800 600)

That's all it says.

New one doesn't work for me :( Keeps crashing right after I open it. I wonder what the problem is?

Edit: Here is the problem signature if it helps at all.

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
  Problem Event Name:   APPCRASH
  Application Name:   minetest.exe
  Application Version:   0.4.10.0
  Application Timestamp:   00000000
  Fault Module Name:   ig4icd32.DLL
  Fault Module Version:   6.14.10.5076
  Fault Module Timestamp:   4a328f87
  Exception Code:   c0000005
  Exception Offset:   0003e4ce
  OS Version:   6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
  Locale ID:   1033
  Additional Information 1:   0a9e
  Additional Information 2:   0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
  Additional Information 3:   0a9e
  Additional Information 4:   0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

Edit:

Okay when I used the software and burningsvideo video drivers, which I've never used before, the game ran but looked very very ugly. Every other video driver including opengl crashed on execution. I hope this helps in some way.

Did you check your video driver?
Both the win32 and the win64 build work fine for me.
