tree ideas for minetest_game...

Hello,
Last time I played minetest and found out that all trees look like the same...
I really want to have more kind of trees, like tall, big or small...

And what about other trees like pear trees or walnut trees?

And what about adding an item to bring trees to grow?(This would be great on maps like skyblock because it fould decrease the time to wait for trees)
Something like coal or the bones of dead players?

And does it help, when I place a torch near the sapling?

Is it difficult to add a new kind of trees in minetest_game(I mean without adding a modification!!)?

You should talk about this in Freeminer. [url]freeminer.org[/url] Try talking about this idea here, becasue they have gotten a lot more creative I believe.

I think Terasology's trees are written in the L-system, so minetest could use them.

These trees are nice but I think they are to big?
But I think different colours of leaves would be great!
Or trees who changes there color!!! Then we would have some kind of summer, winter, etc.
Is that possible?

Then there's no way to help you. If you want anything diffrent/additional to minetest_game, you do install mods. Which is not particulary difficult. Of course you might try to get minetest_game changed, but...that might be more difficult.

In how far is that relevant? I've just tested it with my heavily modded singleplayer (which changes nature considerably - comparable to the Eden game), and it still works fine.

Of course it might be intresting to use the new nodes which are part of the default game now (ice, snow). Leaves from moretree trees are not affected.

And there's still the issue with speed. For servers, this is a problem.
