I can't even put into words how stupid that is.

I haven't come anywhere near to figuring out how to use all of the advanced features in Gimp. So paying for Photoshop would be a complete waste of my money. Like purchasing a high powered desktop computer to play minesweeper.

Gimp likes to crash on me like every five minutes when I tried it on Windows. For Linux, there is no beating Gimp though, yet. I love Photoshop, though even for pixel art, it is fast, and has never crashed yet, and I've been using it for over a decade.
I also can not stand Blender, it pisses me off so much. What takes me an hour in 3DS Max (Also free for anything but rendering. You can get the student edition for free here. http://www.autodesk.com/education/free- ... 12/popular) takes me eight in Blender!
I hope someone makes a B3D exporter for 3DS Max, I would be so happy. As it is I model and UV map it in Max then import that into Blender.
