once again i re-started the progess, but this time for real.
instead of throwing everything together and then try to fix it, i will create a game from scratch.
i'm still using default minetest_game and other mods, but i will copy/paste them step by step, taking only the parts i currently need and making changes/additions right there.
it's more work, but it helps to keep control of everything.
so here is the plan:
- remake most of the decorative block textures using XSsheep's Pixel Perfection Texture Pack from Minecraft
- customized world, using a 9-biome-system
- adding new stones, grasses, trees, ores and other stuff
- providing fancy decorative building blocks of all materials
- crafting, farming, mobs, tools and magic
- keep it simple
my inspiration for the fantasy/magic/alchemy theme of the game is the Golden Sun Series for the GBA.
that's why i named the game Sol Aureus (= golden sun) and i also named the 9 biomes after the celestial spheres.
the game does not feature the original Golden Sun landscapes, items or magic powers, it's just the theme that i want to reproduce.
